Am I considered Asian? Born in Kazakhstan

Hey, I know this is a weird question. I was born in Kazakhstan, as was the rest of my family. Previous generations where either born in Kazakhstan or neighboring south countries (Uzbekistan etc). Obviously, I was born in Asia, but am I considered Asian for scholarship purposes?

According to the Census bureau, an Asian is "A person having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian subcontinent ", but Kazakhstan doesn't reaaalllly fit that discription as far as I can tell.

I would assume that yes, I am considered Asian, but I don't want to apply to a scholarship just to find out that I was never qualified to apply. Thanks for the help!

Ummm, If you are a Kazakh you are considered Asian. I am from Mongolia, so i’m pretty sure that you are considered as one
maybe, you don’t look Asian Asian but ethnically you are

Ok thanks. Yeah I don’t look asian at all haha

Kyrgyzstan here!
