Okay so this is definitely a stretch but I have a 2.8 GPA, 1500 SAT score and Im applying to Ivy schools, and before you laugh and say im just an idiot, I know you guys have seen that one percent thats gotten in with a 2.3 but still declined to go, that could be me right? Im not a bad student because I have low grades im just a student that doesn't have many opportunities, my dads an alcoholic and I see my mom once a week, I work everyday from 5-1/2 am, I have my own business of commercial services, yes im 17 and I have a business, I make about 5 thousand a day. I started this alllll by myself the only thing that someone helped me with was when my dad had to first have the business in his name because Im not the legal age but when I turn 18 its going to be mine. I first started working because I needed money for me and my brother but then after talking to some co workers (this job was cleaning houses/companies) since none of then new english they asked me for help in customers and such so I organize a plan and they work for me. Okay so I know colleges in general dont just look at grades they also look at activities and such and im sure owning a business can count as one, but what do you guys think? Should I even apply or was that one person that got in with a 2.3 just insanely lucky? Should I apply or just not go for it?
