I haven’t seen many people address the 1.1 question on MIT’s music supplement:

Music Area:
Classical
Jazz
Composition
World Music

I play Old-Time (Appalachian, folk, traditional) fiddle so I selected World Music and Violin as my instrument for now. Haha I hope they won’t get the wrong idea…

That sounds like it will be fine :slight_smile: Question 1.1 is probably just for preliminary sorting. You can always indicate the specifics of your instrument in the resume section/or your teacher can address it in the music recommendation.
