Do I have to complete a business management undergraduate program or can I just stick to my economics major?

No, you can be an econ major.

At HBS I believe about 30% of the incoming class was comprised of undergraduate business majors last year.

My understanding is that most good MBA programs prefer a non-business undergraduate program. Econ would be a good BA.

The school will ultimately admit the students who are best suited to become leaders. If you have an econ degree, that does not put you at a disadvantage. Just remember that top business schools look for diversity so try your hardest to appear unique amongst the applicants.
