Am I good enough? Chance me!

GPA: 3.6 uw, 4.1 w
ACT: 30
Will take the SAT soon.

Clubs: Junior Classical League, Youth and Government, German (offices: treasurer and VP), Mock Trial, (will be inducted into NHS).
Volunteer work: I've been an active girl scout for 12 years and have volunteered at the equestrian center run by my council for 3 years. I take as many chances to volunteer elsewhere as I can. I will be teaching English in Ghana next summer.

Scare factor: I had a rough freshman year and got Cs both semesters in English I- gifted.

If any of this matters I go to a nationally accredited magnet school (top 25% in my class) , I am a black female, I live in the Deep South.

I am a junior and expect to raise my GPA by at least .1 points before graduation.

Is Columbia a realistic reach school or just a dream?

Just be the best YOU can be!

Can you provide more about your circumstances and awards?

As far as awards go, I’ve gotten honorable mention in the Sijong Poetry competition in association with Harvard University, I’ve had a poem of mine published in an anthology, I’ve gotten one silver medal and one gold medal for my scores on the National Latin exams, I earned a bronze award for my service as a girl scout, I got first place in district rally for Biology I, and basic school awards for academic excellence.
Circumstances: I will definitely need financial aid (my mother is a single mother and won’t be able to contribute much towards college).
