Argh, I hate the autotune vocals! Nope, don't like it, sorry! As for the soda thing.. that's laaaame.

hdada91, please tell student council that soda is bad. Tell them that you were thinking of sometime better to bring, like orange juice (too much acid) and apple juice (proven to have too much sugar).
Then tell them that you have pondered over this for a while.

They have no right to call you to a meeting. When they do that in my school, I make sure I find flaws in the case. You need to tell me what the real problem is here, so that we work it out. Or, if it is not that much of a problem, and you can handle it, I will not worry you.

Kanye... his new song heartless is a nice one. I do not really listen to him because he is not really a consistent artist. There is something about him that I cannot point out. I mean, Lil Wayne kissed Birdman and smokes a lot, that is absolute. Snoop talks about sex like it is breathing air, and T-Pain sings like he has no tongue. His hat is..._____.
But Kanye... There is something that I cannot point out. I am not the person to point out flaws in anyone, so maybe that is why I have no words for him.

Prophet, I am going on itunes right now. I will listen to song by song, and then make sure I pick what I like. I will get the albums if I find at least four songs that I like.

Oh, and do not worry. LOL. I easily fall in love with a song. That is the point of this whole thread.
Keep it coming guys.

I like this thread. I feel like we've all bonded now.

You beat me to that comment.
Yes, music brings many together. It does not have to be what you like, but showing respect for others is essential.
What happened to hookem? Could not handle the open minds, I think. Scared of open brains at work, lol. I am not bashing him.

Soda issues is totally lame. PM me and let us talk.

yea. soda? people getting all spiced up over nothing.

its strange how i feel close to people ive never met and may never meet.
but yeah i had to go to that stupid disciplinary meeting this morning. i went in and they asked me if i had signed up to bring soda. i said yes. they asked if i brought it. i said no i had been absent the day i was supposed to bring it in and forgot. then they told me that if i knew i was going to be absent i should have found a substitute to bring in the soda. and i said its wasnt like i planned on catching the flu. and then they looked at me and i think they too realized how pointless it was. and they told me that next time i sign up to bring in something...i have to bring it in. and then they said i was dismissed. and as i was walking out i stopped and said i forgot something...i opened my backpack and put a 2liter pepsi with a bow and a card on the table. the card said:
"Dear DRB (Disciplinary Review Board):
I'm sorry i cause all hell to break loose.
Sincerely, Pepsi"

ok so im need of some new music. so any recs would be appreciated.

and here are two songs ive been listening to:
20 dollar by MIA
YouTube - M.I.A. 20 Dollar (with lyrics)

Walking down this hill by travis (it says its nine min but only listen to like the first 3.5min)
YouTube - Travis - Walking down the hill

I'd recommend checking out a band called Wheatus. They're from Long Island and I think they're really good. They had a couple of hit songs back in 2001 but were churned up and spat out by the record label machine. But they survived and now run their own recording studio where they record and produce all their own stuff.

Wheatus on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

If you haven't heard it, the latest Raconteurs album was fantastic and would highly recommend that.

For upbeat punk/pop/rock type stuff, Army of Freshmen are great. Army of Freshmen on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

And I've been listening to Lily Allen a lot lately since her new album came out
Lily Allen on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

first of all why is this on the yale board? hahaha

anyways i like britney too! im actually going to her concert on Apr 8th, hopefully to celebrate my acceptances! (most likely not for yale... :( )

I'd recommend, if you don't already have them, some older bands like:

The Pixies
The Smiths
Smashing Pumpkins
The Cure
The Clash
The Ramones
Depeche Mode

Any of those would be good. If you want some newer bands, I'd suggest listening to:

Morningwood
Blaqk Audio
Operahouse
Innerpartysystem
Klaxons
Yoav

basketballbabe, we're just doing some yale-fan group bonding, s'all :)

Reads above post

....Down the Road is .... OK..I'm sure I would appreciate it much more if I was actually a father or something but...Country is just WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too sentimental for me.

crew, let's first agree dr. dre is the best producer in the game. ever.

now, let us all stand in awe at his latest leaked track -- topless -- featuring t.i. and nas. if the leak is this good, his album (detox) will be epic.

i have the same issue as you- i'm madly in love with britney and rihanna. i'm also in love with the jonas brothers and n'sync... nothing you can really do about it :(

EATYOURCEREAL + all the others who posted on this + me should get into Yale. We would be the music club, totally relating music to anthropology and just spin the club into something BIG!

I got a smashing pumpkins song and I may just snatch an album from itunes.
Prophet, Dre's album is SO LATE! I am disappointed, honestly. I almost forgot about Dre. LOL
I have not heard that song. Gimme info.

Smashing Pumpkins are great. Are there any classic rock fans? Like Deep Purple <3

Bulldog, here's the Dr Dre track http://www.megaupload.com/?d=V16BEHP0

Also, does anyone know the band Endeverafter? They're one of my favourites but nobody here knows them, I don't know if they're known at all in the US.

Music club should just be called the Awesome Club. Cos that's what we are.

I can't really say I like one particular genre of music over another.

The following are just some of the "J'' entries in my iTunes:

"I want you back" - Jackson Five (little Michael Jackson == Michael Jackson now)

"Floating" - Jape

"Dirt off your Shoulder" - Jay Z

"Broadsword" - Jethro Tull

"All Along the Watchtower" - Jimi Hendrix

"Rocky Mountain Way" - Joe Walsh

"Walk the Line" - Johnny Cash

"Dieses Lieben" - Juli

Seriously, youtube all of those, they're excellent.

Johnny Cash. I have always wanted to buy an album but I always ALWAYS keep forgetting.
Off to the itunes store. I've been EVERYWHERE!!

ok so i have the funniest video ever...warning:some profane language
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dJu1Jj7VTw

Don't BUY your music from iTunes!

"Listentoyoutube.com"......

Take that p2p software, and DRM, intellectual copyrights people!
