So this issue has been bugging me for the last few months and now I have to submit my application. SHOULD I choose International or is it OK if I choose Freshman (US freshman) since I'm a US citizen? It's really important that I DO choose US Freshman since I can only be eligible for a certain scholarship by doing so.

If you’re a US citizen, why WOULDN’T you choose that, more favorable option?

I don’t understand your issue here. Most colleges’ international applicant pools face considerably harsher competition. Those kids would be dying to be considered in the regular pool.

I don’t understand what your question is…

If you are a US Citizen (including one living in country other than the US), you apply as a US Citizen and not as an International.

oooooh I get it now. Ya, you should apply as United States citizen if you indeed a United States citizen

Yes I do live in another country. Good, and thats exactly what I’m going to do.

The issue is that when I send my transcript, I’m afraid that they won’t know how to analyze it since I’m not doing the typical American high school courses (I’m doing A-levels).

What should happen in this case? Should I write a letter along with the transcripts explaining my situation?

Sending a letter may e fine, maybe even having school send one. However, be aware most colleges are familiar with A-levels since numerous internationals do apply with them.
