Am I Latino? International student?

My dad is Italian and my mom is Brazilian (as many people from the South of Brazil, she’s Caucasian with Portuguese background). I was born in Italy but moved to Brazil when I was 2 and later on I moved to the US with my family when I was 9. We are currently permanent residents. My family always marked me white in papers, even if we have kept both Italian and Brazilian culture and I speak Portuguese. My first name is Hispanic/Italian but my last name is super Italian. Should I mention my multicultural background and mark Latino or it will be looked down by colleges as I’m trying to push it since I was born in Europe? Am I considered an international student even if I’ve gone to American schools since 3rd grade or am I considered a minority?

You are not an international student.

If you identify as part-Brazilian, feel free to mark yourself as Hispanic/Latino if you so choose. FWIW, the National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP), defines Hispanic/Latino as having ancestors from one or more of the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay, or Venezuela.
