I took SAT twice and for essays, I totally BSed the examples for both tests and got 10, 11. Am I lucky or is it possible to BS examples and still get double-digit scores.
Thank you =)

It’s possible. The scoring is dependent on how well you write, how much SAT vocab you use, and how well your examples support your thesis.

The essay is easily gamed. All you have to do is write a long essay with four-5 paragraphs and you get a high score. The average grades spends like 30 seconds on each essay.

No, you are not lucky, because example authenticity is not considered during essay scoring.

It’s possible. You’re not the only person who’s made up examples and pulled off a double-digit score. Tons of people do that, because as Fat_Nerd says, the graders don’t base it off authenticity.

I wouldn’t say so. I made up one long personal example for October and got a 12.

… although I assume this is the exception, not the rule!

I was thinking of making up the examples again but the topic was extremely easy that I dind’t even have to =)

I actually used the same example for yesterday’s test that I did for October, albeit made it much shorter such that I could include a second - slightly fallacious - example about Ghandi.

However, I don’t need a higher score in writing, so I won’t be miffed if they don’t care for this essay.
