Am I making the right decision? (Sophomore 2nd semester)

First of all thanks for reading this :)

Some background info: Spanish has always been my hardest class (the material just never makes sense in my head no matter how much I study) and this year I got stuck with a horrible Spanish 3 teacher who is nice but makes no effort to actually teach us. I also joined Journalism this year and I really enjoy it. There are 8 levels of Journalism at my school: 1-2 are basic knowledge and background info to get us ready for 3-8 which are all the same, just writing for the school newspaper. I am in Journalism 1 right now.

My counselor said the only way to get into another Spanish class (same level, just a new teacher who I have heard is really good) would be to switch out of Journalism 2 next semester and head straight to J-3 (so I would be writing for the paper without actually finishing the basic stuff first). I am kind of nervous about skipping ahead even though my teacher said I would be ok just a little behind.

I have a friend who is also on the paper and she said she could help me but I am just worried about not knowing enough to succeed in the class which is mainly seniors.

What would you guys suggest? Switch to the better Spanish teacher but skip a level of Journalism or stay with the Spanish teacher where I am having trouble but get all of the Journalism levels? Sorry if any of this is confusing.

I think you are. Just make sure you tell the Journalism teacher what’s going on and she can help you along the way in the transition.
