I'm a senior right now. I'm going to a state school but it is strong in the sciences, and it's medical school in research is around #30 and internal medicine #15-ish.

I got in the science and tech honors program which means taking special courses in research and eventually doing research of my own w/ a personal mentor. FULL-RIDE too!!!

I'm taking EMT classes this and next summer and plan to be EMT-certified by the end of next summer.

Gonna start studying for MCATs early. Won't make the same mistake like I did with the SATs although I did pretty well.

Well there’s no real “track”, but that full ride does sound like a good deal. Moreover, don’t study for the MCAT early. It’s a waste of time, and you can’t even really study for it before having taken the prerequisite courses. It takes 2-4 months max; don’t spend more time than that.

Ultimately, do things you are interested in; don’t neglect that side of yourself in pursuit of some non-existent pre-med ideal.

well would i be able to study the MCAT if i learn what i need to know and then when i take the prerequisite courses pay special attention to those areas of biology, chemistry, etc.? or is the test too general for that?
