<p>My counselor got a call from N.Y.U. and was asked to report my Q1 grades.
Some people say that NYU called my counselor because they are not sure about their decision on my app. Some people say that I am on the verge of getting denied to the admissions. Some people say that I am likely to get an acceptance letter and that NYU just wants to check if they made a good decision or not, and see if i am doing well consistently.</p>

<p>probably because you are on the borderline what are your stats and Q1 grades.. your q1 grades could make/break your decision... I highly doubt they'd ask your school to check if they made a good decision or not..</p>
<p>i think they wanted to defer you, but since they don't defer, they had to decide your acceptance based on your first quarter grades - so basically if your grades have not significantly dropped your chances are improved</p>
