I don't care very much about politics, but I want to go to Georgetown for EVERYTHING else it has to offer. Is Georgetown too political for me? Is it ok that I'm not a CSPAN-obsessed White House correspondent-wannabe? (not that there's anything wrong with that!) lol. Because I visited earlier this year and kinda got that vibe.

Any advice would be greatly aprreciated! Thanks!

Well, just sit in front of CSPAN for several hours and try to fake it... Seriously, I doubt everyone is a political guru at Gtown. I am one, but there are exceptions... Gtown has alot more to offer than just Politics. Languages is one thing. That is why I'm going there. The Politics is just an added bonus for me.

i'm sure it's not at all a problem - you can't be the only one who's attracted to what georgetown has to offer, non-politics-wise. it has many great departments, with an added advantage of being in the center of american and world politics.. i'm sure you wont emerge from georgetown without an enhanced awareness of those issues, but there are all kinds of student associations and majors and interests. you'll be fine.

There are plenty of people that aren't into politics, and a lot of times people don't really discuss issues all that much because it can evoke some strong feelings. You won't feel out of place but maybe some conversations will help you form your own opinions.

Wow...I was wondering the exact same thing! I got accepted as a posssible GOVERNMENT major and I am not even one of those politically-obsessed people. I'm hoping that having vague knowledge of current events and decent knowledge of government history is enough to start me off at Georgetown. I'm pretty sure being in D.C. will help us catch up, too!

Haha, I was thinking the same thing too...I was getting sort of nervous that (if I get in), I wouldn't fit in or have anything to say to all of the politcally-inclined people there!
