President and founder of an anti-genocide chapter of STAND, which is a national student run organization. It is the first one in our whole area, so it'll be very community based.
Already raised $700 for the Genocide Intervention Network in 3 days and will continue to work in the coming months. I'll write my personal statement on this.

Looking at my list I dont know if I have enough reach schools. I really don't know if its worth applying to Stanford, because honestly, it's way too hard to get in. What are some good reach schools I can go for for Chemical Engineering? And Please chance me for

Cornell
UC Berkeley
UCLA
UCSD
USC
UC Davis
UC Irvine
Santa Clara University

why are you even bothering to apply…?

why are u laughing?

Don’t get discouraged. Most people on this site make it seem like URMs with 4.0/36/2400s who also lead sports teams and have won national titles in everything and have cured cancer (twice), while raising 18 brother/sisters by working 40 hours a week are barely the standard to get into most schools…

screwd? i don’t think thats the right word for your little resume. was it sarcasm

I agree with hyesunghyejin…you are hardly “screwd”. I was expecting 1500 SATs and 2.5 GPA.

That being said, I def think you can throw a few more reach schools on there. Perhaps even some of the lower Ivies (brown, maybe?). You won’t be super competitive at the Ivies/highly selective schools, but you will still stand a chance.

Cornell - reach
UC Berkeley - low reach
UCLA - idk
UCSD - idk
USC - high match
UC Davis - idk
UC Irvine - idk
Santa Clara University - idk

I’m sorry, I don’t know the UCs very well.

Return the favor?

But Brown isn’t really an engineering school, is it? What other Ivies/highly selective schools should I apply to, without making it a waste of time?

in the mix for cornell, berkeley, sd, and LA. USC, davis, irvine and Santa clara are probably in for you

chance me back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/801012-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html

carnegie mellon would be a good school for you if you are into engineering

You’re not screwed. I’d go on ahead and apply to Stanford; it seems like you have a pretty good shot.

Well my parents don’t want me to stay in California. But if I get scholarships to some other places I might be able to go. Do you think I can get a decent scholarship from UT Austin to make it equal to UC in state tuition?

i got into berkeley, LA, SD, davis, USC, santa clara. basically I am 6/6 and I didn’t apply to cornell or anything else. Now i just have to choose between LA and berkeley…

Very nice job Californium. Congratz dude.
