am i screwed over?

Well, to be frank, I messed up my first semester of Sophomore year. I will get a GPA of a 3.6 at worst and a 3.8 at best. I plan to go to University of California Berkeley, Davis, and Irvine. And if i have a chance, STANFORD! It's the first Semester of Sophomore year, so am i screwed over with having a chance with these colleges or do I still have time and a chance to improve? That GPA has seriously lowered my self-esteem, I really don't feel worthy anymore. I promise myself i'm going to work my a** off this semester to get a 4.17. And junior year, if all goes well, I will have a 4.57 at best. So am I screwed for any chances with these colleges?

I'll chance you if you reply.

Thanks. This means a lot to me.

No, you're not screwed. First of all many colleges will "forgive" grades in your early high school years. However, that does usually mean one's freshmen year. But if you take hard classes (APs) get good grades in them, and have good test scores you shouldn't have any problem getting into Berkeley or Davis. But Stanford is another issue, even great candidates have a low chance of acceptance.

I'll take you up on your offer to chance me (it may be a couple of pages back), though I'm not sure how much I'll learn  :)
