Hey so I just went over my transferable credits for my UC app and I have 54 at my CCC in semester units but since I started at a CSU on the quarter system I have 7 that will transfer with me there. In my head I thought that would make it 61 but I think the ratio of a quarter to semester is 1.5 to 1… So will I not even meet the minimum requirement for transfer??
Unfortunately you are short. You can download the official UC chart from http://eap.ucop.edu/Documents/_forms/unitcoversion.pdf and it says those 7 units on the quarter system is worth 4.66 semester units. Add that to 54 and you are just short. 58.66 is almost but not quite there…
If you have acceptances to UCs then there is one slim change. Call the admissions office TOMORROW and explain your circumstances. You’ll probably get a clerk that says “sorry” but maybe not. And even if the clerk says no you have another chance. Send an email to the director of admissions and the Dean of students. I remember orientation where the Dean of my college explained that he was the person responsible for enforcing the college rules and he was the person with the power to waive them!
Not only can the director or dean waive the rules, the FAQ at Santa Cruz (where you expressed an interest in an earlier post) even implies it has been done before.
What you need to do ASAP is get your conditions modified to allow you to take a summer class and earn those 1.44 units 
@mikemac Thank you so much for your reply! Do you think I would have to be admitted first then try to have the chance at changing those conditions? Or should I try right now as I am still a pending applicant?
@mikemac gave great advice. I know someone who was one unit under and they let him in. I certainly have no idea how they will respond, but there’s a possibility. But as mike said, reach out NOW. Waiting only makes a no more likely.
There are some CCCs with a session starting next week. Where are you in CA?
^ Quarter schools started last week and will allow classes to be added through this week. If you live near de Anza College or Foothill College consider trying to take a class here.
Hey I just wanted to update this thread if any other applicants have the same issue in the future! Santa Cruz offered me winter enrollment if I complete the missing units in the fall semester so it will all work out!
Good news. Interesting they didn’t suggest taking the 1.5 units in summer.
Another update: I was able to update my application with the summer classes and I was admitted for Fall!!! So excited!
You should probably enroll in an online summer class from any UC and let the school know that you’ll have the required units by the time school would start
