So I just switched out of AP Psych to become a student aide in the career center. Only thing is, I didn't realize it shows up on your transcript as "Teaching as a Prof". I am taking 6 other classes (1 is double period, so 7 periods), all of which are either AP or honors/advanced. I did the switch because I am working 15 hr/wk at an internship afterschool, and I wanted extra time to perfect my college essays and work on my research paper that I will be submitting to Intel. Will this one class hurt my chances at places like Yale or Stanford?

Oh but my counselor said she will still say that I took the "most rigorous" schedule possible on the school report.

uh, no. all of your other classes are APs/honors, no one's going to care if you decided to be a student aide instead of taking AP Psych. AP Psych's regarded as one of the easiest APs anyway, plus you should do want you want to do.

Well, I don't think it will significantly hurt your chances because it is only one "free period". I think that if you get credits for being a student aide then it should be okay. (At my school we don't get credits for being an aide). Best of luck! :)

Ok thanks for the responses. I am relieved.

It shouldn't hurt too badly. You're taking as many AP classes this year as I'll have the opportunity to take all of high school.
