Am I screwed?

I applied ED to Grinnell on November 20th.

According to Pioneer Web, my Teacher Evaluation 2 and School Report still haven't arrived.

I emailed Teacher 2, and he says he forgot to send it out until two days ago, even though I asked him and gave him all the information 5 weeks before the application due date.

No clue about the School Report though, my counselor said it was in the mail a couple weeks ago, so it's odd that it hasn't shown up.

I emailed Grinnell, and they replied with detailed information as to what's missing.

To restate the title,

Am I screwed?

None of this late business is my fault, as I came to both Teacher 2 and my counselor 5 and 7 weeks ahead of time, and all the forms I had to turn in myself were turned in on time.

as long as they're postmarked before the deadline, you're good. (assuming they eventually get the materials.)

The School Report should be, but Teacher Evaluation 2 definitely isn't, it's postmarked November 26th, probably.

Grr...

This is making me quite scared.

bump 4chars

the colleges know that recommendations are not in your control so have no fear, the post mark of those items dont' matter

does no one have any common sense anymore, drives me NUTS

do you think a school would punish an applicant because their teacher was not timely

NO...that is why they let you know what is missing, so you can follow through

relax and enjoy a cookie

ps- and SOMETIMES, items are there but not logged into the computer, that takes more than 5 seconds

they have to get the mail, open it all, sort it, and then log it in...we are talking thousands of pieces of paper and humans inputting it onto the data base

it doesn't happen with a snap of the fingers or a wink of the nose

If your school report was really sent two weeks ago it ought to have arrived. You might want to request your counselor send another copy. Why not follow up with Grinnell and ask if this will effect your ED consideration? They can provide accurate information that will (I hope) put your mind at ease.

Well, in good news, my school report arrived today, and I talked on the phone to the documents coordinator at Grinnell, who told me to fax as a holdover until the official copies arrive. I emailed my econ teacher (teacher eval 2), and will see him tomorrow (was home sick today).

Thanks!
