vict, err, patient sounds good

This summer, I am volunteering at a Nursing Home, and I have got to say, I do NOT look forward to growing old. Many of the patients are decrepid and have the mental state of a small child. Their bodies did NOT age gracefully, and a few are just down right nasty to be around. Many stare off into distance, ALL day. They are locked up in a Nursing home doing the exact same things day in and day out. They aren’t experiencing life outside of the Nursing home.

I told my bf that he had the right to kill me when I could no longer become functional in society…assuming he was still alive.

Sometimes the thought of leaving childhood becomes so sad it hurts inside. I wonder if adults know how much it sucks when they say “You’re living the best years of your life right now, so enjoy it.”
I’m fifteen for crying out loud! And I know that when I grow up, I’ll be looking back at like twenty - twenty-five year olds, filled with memories and envy. It really sucks. Everything is awesome when you’re young, then everything is kind of over and you just have to move to the side for the new young people.

If we could all look and act as young as twenty three year-olds forever, would we be content?

^^I don’t think anyone wants to be senile, young or old.

Are you kidding me? This is America.

So yes, or no? Would you be content?

And I mean US, like the people in this forum. As long as you are young and able, life is never too bad to bear.

I just wanna be 70 already and smoke weed and swear at kids.

And kids (ten through like twenty-nine) are always the coolest. They will always look cooler, their presence is always appreciated, they are always paid attention to, I mean…everything’s cool as a kid!

Of course we wouldn’t be content. Discontent is the pathological disease that pervades our culture.

I think I’d be content, though. Who wouldn’t want to live a life where they didn’t have to worry about their body’s systems breaking down?

If you think people can’t be able, crazy, and having fun in life from the 20s on, you haven’t met most of my family. Maybe looking 23 is ok, but I’m not sure if i’d want to have the mindset of a 23 year old forever. Most of us don’t begin to truly understand responsibility until our late 20s, exspecially if we’re located on a college campus for four years, but growing old, learning about life and everything, that’s just an experience I wouldn’t give up for the world.
