Am I Weird by CC Standards?

I have noticed that I am at odds with the general CC community. For instance, I:

Do not care if I get into an Ivy League school.

Do not obsess over grades.

Am not cutthroat.

That is not to say, however, that I am not smart. I get great grades, went to CTY, was in the gifted program, conduct research at a major university, etc. However, I am pretty relaxed!

So.. am I weird?

I suppose that makes me weird too. It’s okay, we know the secret.

haha i’m like the exact same way. i couldn’t care less about the ivies, and i get good grades i’m just not crazy about it.

:O They do exist!

Guys we are the elite of HSL hahah

Yea you’re weird.

I’m not a cutthroat either. I prefer my hands around their neck, Gollum style.

I didn’t think you were weird until this post

No, but it means that you’re a normal person by normal people standards.

^ But my grades and EC’s are hardly average.

So? I have friends that are 4.0 students with great EC’s and they’re normal people. Not all smart people are complete nerds that obsess over their grades. I know people like that from school and they’re not fun to be around.

You’re weird for considering yourself that different. You’re run of the mill.

Everyone I know’s first impression of me is a laid-back, lazy f**k up. Then, when they realize I’m in their honors/AP classes, and excelling in them, they’re views change. I barely ever study, I don’t hangout with the “nerds”, and I’m a complete jock. I do care about my grades, and I feel the need to get straight A’s, but I won’t kill myself to get into an Ivy. I’m “one of those kids” who can procrastinate, and still pull off great marks, and sometimes better than the kids who study all-day, every day. So, no, you’re not alone  hahaha

@MIThopeful16: So are you. From what I’m given to understand, you have a measly 4.2 gpa, did not get into Thomas Jefferson, etc.

The only thing you’ve got going for you is Governor’s School.

However, you act like your are the biggest thing since sliced bread. Can you even recite the posix standards from memory? Do you know anything of the internals of how a computer works? Can you juggle assembly code for various processors in your head? I doubt it. Yet, you continue to act like you are the God of mathematics and coding. I have been freelance programming for several years for profit and have been programming since I was 7.

If I am run of the mill, I don’t even know what you are.

Ooh, grab your popcorn! A smart people fight is starting.

I am unmoved by your attempt to draw me into a smart person fight. Say what you want. I know who I am and I could give a damn what you think of me.

Deep down, I’m no mathematics god or programming god. You might believe I come off as thinking I am, but I know who the **** I am. So don’t try to say who I am, because you’re not me.

I have to agree that MIThopeful is a bit arrogant. Though, I’m sure he realizes this. What annoys me most about him is that he goes into threads to talk about himself and offers no help to the OP, lol. Other than that, he doesn’t seem to make a big deal out of himself, at all. chillax

Btw, you’re not weird. There are a lot of people on CC like that. Including meh. :)

But I am you.

MIThopeful mad.

You wish you were. You wish you were.

Child please.

And yes I am mad. I admit I am arrogant. I admit I’m a lot of things.
