I've had a cc account for quite some time, and for the most part it's useful. But within my first week of having an account i noticed, about 90% of the kids on the High School Life thread are all hoping to go to MIT or Harvard, or even Yale. Am i the only one on this website who isn't a straight A student?!

I think the non-CCers club thread got deleted. This is all that’s left: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/group.php?do=discuss&group=&discussionid=49

^^nope. :D. i’m pretty much half and half between As and Bs. I fail.

hehe yaaayyy

Ha ha. Nope. I got rejected from a non-Ivy college and have about a 3.1 GPA and a low ACT score. I might even graduate with lower than a 3.0. We’ll see how much work I want to put into the remainder of this semester.

I’ve got a 3.65 and I’m not going to an Ivy League school.

It’s funny, I’ve been on this website long enough to know that this wording will cause a fight.

ugh i have a 3.65 gpa too . it’ll probably get higher by the end of the year but as for ivies? forget it .

applying to gwu and southern cali and florida

I have a 3.75 GPA. Lol.
And I’m applying to USC.

Edit: + I’m a URM, if that really matters.

Don’t worry, you’re definitely not alone. I have a 3.9, but very unimpressive class list and SAT scores.
Personally, I think that most of the posts you see with people with perfect grades and scores and 6 AP classes are straight up lies and I don’t believe them. Obviously there are some kids like this, but definitely not nearly as many as CC would have you believe so don’t even worry about it.

I’m an URM (African American), expecting around a 3.45 UW GPA, aiming for 2200+ SAT, ECs (Crew and Writing). I’m not very confident that I’ll get into any of my dream schools.

I am officially the CC fail of this thread. :D

to nattilee, i can promise you that those people really do exist. usually everyone knows at least one super high achieving kid at their high school… multiply that by thousands of high schools across the U.S., and that’s a lot of above-average people. i see CC mainly as a place for high achieving students to fish for praise and spend their time til college decisions come out.

wat r collage?

^ [Collage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Collage - Wikipedia)

Yeah, I still don’t believe it. I prefer my little bubble of ignorance lol. The way I see it, a majority of highschools are under-achieving, so there’s less than you figure. (Though still yes maybe thousands of perfect kids, but thats a small fraction of the total.) I know I’m probably the person considered an over-achiever at my highschool, and I’m definitely not headed to MIT.

But either way it really doesn’t matter. We all have to just be ourselves and try to pick the best path and see where it takes us etc. No reason to be concerned with others.

There are some. I would say they’re the silent majority.

I hate to be elitist, but they’re not lying. You must not know many kids at the top schools. I will say, though, that CC is not a good representation of the general applicant pool. I find that most kids here are either super-qualified and will get into multiple Ivies or not qualified for that. There isn’t a whole lot in between (or at least that posts their stats and stuff).

I’m not a straight A student. My G.P.A is a 3.5 something.
My SAT’s are horrid on according to the elitist CC’ers.
My EC’S are from God.

But i’m on here because I am able to get tons of advice on SAT’s and how to bring up my GPA and stuff like that.

If you read some posts in others forums you will find high school kids who are not A students. They had like 1400 SAT’s that through the help and advice CC’ers become
2000 +.
You just do not find all the non A students on this forum.

I have a 3.15 gpa (uw).

Que esta correge?
Yo soy un estudiante muy mal.
Yo tengo un 3.88 GPA.
