I’m an alum (2018 Cohort B Founder) from the Quarter Zero Catapult Incubator - if anyone has questions regarding the program and my experiences, feel free to ask and I’ll try my best to answer!
A few pointers and thoughts:
-Definitely apply if you want to be part of a real experience - nothing here is “simulated.” Everything is quite real, from the idea validation to customer acquisition!
-Quarter Zero is willing to hear ideas and applicants of all kinds! It doesn’t matter if you just got interested in entrepreneurship or feel like your idea won’t generate enough profit - I founded a social venture that is nonprofit, so don’t be afraid to bring forth new projects!
-The founder/free agent system brings about a unique team formation experience and gives everyone a chance to succeed!
Just a few of the many parts of my amazing experience at Quarter Zero. Feel free to post questions and good luck with applications!
How intense is the remote week? Got into Cohort C!
Congratulations! It slightly depends on if you are a Founder or a Free Agent, as well as how your team runs. For me, it was kind of different since I had to cram ACT preparation into those two remote weeks and so my amazing team took on much of my work, and all I had to do was do goal checking through team calls and the Trello. It is totally up to your team on how you want to handle the work and how much your project means to the whole team.
However, the last remote week we had before Demo Day was intense. Deadlines had to be met and a whole set of checklists had to be finished. I probably spent around 8 hours a day on my venture (probably more), making sure my team was ready for Demo Day. Don’t worry though, since I’m sure most teams and people in the cohort did not spend that much time and it is not required. My best advice is to not slack because the last week moves fast, even to my team, who had spent lots of time preparing for it.
We had a huge windfall during a remote week and thus that week required working that success into our work and modifying components accordingly. Having a cohesive team structure and well-defined roles will make your remote week infinitely better. If you have more questions, let me know and again, congratulations on being accepted into an amazing incubator!
