Hello! I am interested in business and looked over some programs for next summer and was wondering if anyone attended or heard about Quarter Zero. I looked it up but does not seem as “established” as Launch or Endevvr. ANy thoughts or experiences. Also how many applicants do they receive?
As an alum of Quarter Zero’s 11th cohort, I can speak to the amazing time I had in the program. QZero has less of an emphasis on lecturing and stresses more of a trial-and-error approach to entrepreneurship, which is often what you find to be the case in the real start-up world. I’d recommend the program wholeheartedly, however, I am indeed a bit biased!
As far as the applicants are concerned, they had 1400 applicants last year!
Hey there! That’s awesome that you are showing interest in the Quarter Zero programs. I myself am an alumni of the Catapult Incubator that Quarter Zero runs, and I have to say it was an amazing experience. At the incubator, we had a chance to learn from some of the best mentors and guest speakers in the masterclasses. They also really focused on learning by DOING, so there were a lot of sessions where we did actual work on our product to test out if it works in the market. For example, we had a customer acquisition competition in my year, where we got about 2 hours to try and drum up as much as business as we could, using the tools and skills that they gave us. Another thing I really liked about the program was that we got to travel all across the country to the different entrepreneurial hubs (NYC, Chicago and San Fran) and really immerse ourselves in the startup culture there. Because of the constant travelling, my company staff learned how to work as a team early on. Personally, my day to day responsibilities for the company increased more and more as we learned more about how to successfully start a startup. Some of the tasks I had to do included marketing, budgeting the finances for the following business year, making a long term vision / plan, creating content for the customers that used my company’s services, etc.
As for you concern of “establishment” I think that you’ll find Quarter Zero more than capable of meeting your expectations. In fact, they even give you access to free branding and legal work, which is awesome for a startup! Finally, I think their alumni network stands out the most. They are very open and accessible to their alumni, giving them exclusive opportunities which could be helpful to you. Overall, I think it is a truly amazing program, and it personally kicked off my entrepreneurial journey.

I was accepted to this year’s incubator as a free agent. Do free agents (assuming they are passionate about the startup they chose) usually continue with their chosen company & continue to grow it after the end of the incubator?
I got accepted to Catapult Incubator! I can’t believe it; I’m so average! Is anyone making a facebook group for this?
It’s a waste of money. I did it last year and half the kids did not want to be there. Also I think it is important to take into account all the traveling which is a total waste. There is no difference between the cities you go to except the office space. You will learn more at an internship or by reading a book.
