Amazing experience!

We are headed home to Maine today after D’s audition yesterday. This weekend was an amazing experience for us and totally worth the long shot. I was only able to stay for a few moments of the master class as D’s 1 yr old sibling was in tow but in those few minutes I was completely in love with the faculty and program. This is the hardest part, knowing we’ve found the perfect place and knowing there are only just a few spots. D is happy, she gave it her all and she said she learned so much from the Master Class that she will apply wherever she goes. I also want to add that this was the most well run and friendliest audition we have attended. The student volunteers were so kind and attentive, answering all of our questions and offering us snacks and beverages as well as taking time out to play with the baby…it was just crazy wonderful there! D has been academically accepted for awhile and has been getting daily emails congratulating her and reminding her of various deadlines which makes it even harder! What will be, will be!

I think I remembering seeing you and your sweet baby leave the theater during the Master class - what a cutie!

I wholeheartedly agree; I auditioned on Saturday and just fell in love with the splendid program they have down there. It was so organized, everyone was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and the audition was very comfortable. I felt really great about it but I am prepared to hear a “no” in an email next week; everyone there was so talented and I’m sure it’s tough for them to pick just twelve. No matter what the outcome, it was absolutely awesome to meet the faculty there that I’ve heard spoken of so highly - Kaitlin even remembered my name when I walked by her on the stairs hours after my audition! All in all, a great experience, and it would be an absolute privilege to attend Texas State in the MT program. I am praying for a yes, but more just praying for patience and strength regardless of the answer. Good luck to your daughter!

Best of luck to both of you. I hope your news is good and I would love to meet you San Marcos!

Good luck to both of you and it’s so great to hear all the positives about TSU! We agree the program is awesome!

Thank you livelaughlove and theatremomma and I’m sending lots of positive thoughts your way SteamedArtichoke. We’ve always told D that she will land where she is supposed to and not get too attached to one particular place until all results are in but I fear we are beyond that now. D is not letting her phone out of her site and I am obsessively checking CC. :)

So glad everyone had a great audition experience at Tx State!!! It makes me especially proud to hear positive things about the student volunteers. My son is one of the current students who delayed his spring break to be able to help with auditions this weekend (glad he made it home today!).

Best wishes to all who auditioned!!!

TSU is an amazing place. My S is going to visit April 16:)

livelovelaugh123 - that is great! He will get to see Urinetown!!!

It’s great that you folks had a good experience with the staff and students at callbacks. I remember so well the pain of waiting…fortunately, TXST lets you know quickly, so it doesn’t drag on and on. Like Do-What-You-Luv, I appreciate your positive feedback about the callback process and the student assistants. I will pass your comments along to my son, who also hung around to help out (actually, he’s staying in San Marcos over Spring Break because he’s working on a show - glad for him, but sad for us). He’ll be happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit. Good luck to all!
