AMCAS application question

Hi,

At the end of the med school application there is an essay question that something like "why do you want to go into medicine" or something. Does this question repeat every year or do they change the question. I was wondering because I want to start my essay, but if it changes every year there is no point in wasting my time. Thanks!

The question is revised slightly from time to time, but you should go ahead and write it according to last year's topic.

Actually, my understanding is that until last year, there was no prompt at all, it just asked for a 'personal statement', and you had to assume that it was asking for "Why do you want to enter medicine?"

Yeah, that must have JUST changed, because I sure don't remember any prompt. It was just the personal statement.

Most people followed that any way, but I'm sure a few people didn't.

Huh...guess you learn something new everyday...
