American applying to Faculty of Arts. Special Situation

Alright, I’m a senior in high school, but I kind of have a special situation that someone from Quebec could most likely help me with. My stats are as follows:

My school does not weigh GPAs
3.8 GPA for junior year 3.76 GPA for senior year so far, and is definitely going to go up (Will talk about sophomore later).
I will be taking the ACT for the first time this October with a predicted score of 30-32. No SAT.

4 in AP Computer Science
5 in AP US Government
Currently taking AP Calc AB

My high school has a dual enrollment program with a local community college which I’m taking advantage of. I’m enrolled in electrical and mechanical technology classes. 2 courses completed so far with As in both. Already factored into my current GPA.

Now for my sophomore year of high school things are a bit tricky. I attended my freshman and sophomore years in an English school in Montreal, QC. My junior and senior years are in the US. From what I’ve learned, grades from high schools in Quebec are somewhat deflated compared to grades one would receive at a US high school. Furthermore, the high school I went to in Montreal was regarded as advanced and has grades that were more deflated than the usual. Also the school I went to did not offer French as a Second language, so I was in the same class as the other kids who had lived in Montreal their entire lives. I still passed, but I got a 66 in the class. I’m thinking about mentioning all this in my application.

So now for my actual grades. I received my achievement report from the government of Quebec the other day with all my scores, however the scores listed are of the separate competencies for the classes, and I’m not sure if some classes have a certain weighting for the competencies. When I simply averaged all grades received in my sophomore year it came out to 82. According to wikipedia an 82 translates to a B+ in Quebec, compared to the B- it would be in the US.If someone could provide some insight as to how this affects my GPA that would be fantastic.

So there it is. I know it might be difficult to give an answer due to my situation, but I appreciate all answers. Thanks

I thought that all English schools in Montreal are required to offer French as a second language.

McGill will know how to interpret your split high schools experience.

Ok, good to know. Do you happen to know what my chances would be with these stats?

If 3.8 is unweighted pretty good if you get 30-32 on ACT. It depends on the program you are applying to.
