benny1-my username is not a reflection of my religious orientation.

Fashion_Cookie-I can afford it, but could you elaborate? Why should I go to GW instead of a more prestigous school that costs less money?

GW offers both an intellectually stimulating and exciting lively environment. DC is the home for politics whether it be the study of International Relations, Domestic Policy, or Political Communication. Studying at GW in the heart of DC will allow you to put the theories and classroom knowledge to work in the professional realm. GW students frequently intern at some of the biggest names in the area. Not only are GW profs connected in the professional arena, they are also deeply involved in academia. If you are more interested in policy research and academic research, you can also intern there as a research assistant. Numerous think tanks and policy research firms in the area.

Prestige matters, but it only goes so far. Depending on what path you take, the opportunities at GW and in DC can defnitely supplement your undergraduate expereinces in preparation for grad school or a career.
