American Eagle/Hollister/etc. popular in college?

think for a minute and realize how that statement doesn’t even make sense.

and I know what swedish guys look like. I’ve seen quite a few, whether in person or on TV. I’m 1% swedish by blood (which I’m ashamed of), so I can say whatever I want about swedish guys and it’s ok. Thank god I look the opposite of swedish.

and nothing screams homo like a ****ing cardigan… and I’m not from the USA.

Eh I’d say American chicks stereotype European men as being more feminine, if anything. They seem to care more about how they dress and wear too much cologne, to cover the incessant stench of cigarettes they always have. I dream of going to Paris, but that has nothing to do with the girly frenchies there. As for swedes, the guys i’ve met were actually pretty hot, not feminine looking at all, but I haven’t been there. I prefer American/Canadian men i guess, for cultural reasons…and italian guys.

Nahh I’ve seen women look good in skinny jeans even if they’re like size 10’s or so…and really skinny girls don’t look good in them either, because it emphasizes their lack of curves and makes their legs look like sticks. I think women in the size 4-8 range will always naturally look better in anything simply because they have more of the “ideal” figure. I personally try to stay away from skinny jeans unless they’re tucked into boots since I realize they don’t look good on me.

lmao. I was going to say that but didn’t want to speak for the chicks here. the chicks here in Canada DO NOT like western european men. They’re seen, as you said, as girly. I laugh whenever a brit thinks that “cheerio” will get him hot chicks over here.

Wow! I’m speechless.

Also, all these people who say they like Euro guys: do you really like them, or do you just like the “hot” type? You do know there are still the less the “hot” people. It’s kind of like those who say they love Brazilian women but never really know the entire culture/have been to the country.

That was a joke. But seriously, I’d rather have no swedish blood.

And I agree with your 2nd point.

Psycho - Most Americans/Canadians haven’t been to Europe, so we go by what we see on TV/movies. Women see Hugh Grant and I suppose some think that’s the typical English guy, all sweet and sensitive with a charming accent and floppy hair. But yeah, they’re often stereotyped to be girly…that’s been my experience in college too, we have a lot of internationals here. As for women, I think Swedish women are really pretty, and like none of them are fat.

Russell7 - lemme guess…western canada? or am I way off?

Yes. But I in no way represent western canada.

I don’t know… I’m from Western Canada and I find British guys pretty hot (Arctic Monkeys, anyone?). Most of the girls I know do too haha.

lol russell, youre probably the most arrogant person ive seen on CC :stuck_out_tongue: 1% doesnt give you a whole lot to work with…
and yea, i definitely agree that many european guys are seen as more feminine, thats a good thing though, at least we dont need to hide who we are just to fit a stereotype
lol and i doubt most brits think cheerio gets them girls :stuck_out_tongue: and if they do then that is just weird…

as for having too much cologne, thats a very broad generalization… and not all of us smoke you know :stuck_out_tongue:
caring about how you dress and smell is a GOOD thing, and if i were a girl, id definitely choose the guys who smell good rather than smell like sweat, im not saying all americans do, but since everyone here is using extremes, then why not…
and wow, is it really that bad to ACTUALLY care about what you wear ? :stuck_out_tongue: i mean really ?
haha as for the cardigan comment, yea ok :stuck_out_tongue: i honestly dont care if people think its homo, whatever… first of all, whats wrong with being gay? i have nothing against gay people, i actually respect them because they actually care about their looks which is a good thing  and 2nd of all, i know im not gay, and thats what matters  anyway…
this thread got out of hand:P

what ive been saying all along is: wear what YOU like because that is the most important thing  now i personally prefer people who at least put more thought than ‘whats closest’ when choosing clothes, but thats just me and i cant speak for everyone… obviously russell thinks thats wrong and that makes you a girl :stuck_out_tongue:
its up to you though! good luck :p

discoball, yea i know what you mean  arctic monkeys, razorlight, dirty pretty things, the kooks etc :)

Seems like I’m reading into conservative and liberal views on this thread. I definately agree with the liberal views.

thank you. I blame my arrogance on my swedish genes.

actually I’m very fashion conscious. But there’s a line between fashion conscious and ridiculous. Cardigans cross that. You can be fashion conscious without throwing every bit of masculinity and heterosexuality that you have out of the window.

nerd chicks don’t count.

Russell7 I’m glad my views are completely different than yours. Would you consider yourself conversative? You may consider me to be liberal I guess, because your side on things you pointed out are just ridiculous to me.

I don’t see how anything I said is even remotely political. I’d say that I’m more liberal than conservative.

I don’t think cardigans are extreme or “homo” once you’re ~25+

Coolbrezze, i don’t understand how you’re dragging politics into this. What does fashion sense, wearing cardigans, liking feminine men, or being good looking have anything to do with economic and domestic policy and such??! unless you meant conservative in terms of dress, but you made it sound like politics.

I guess I was sorta placing politics. I mean Russell7 seem to think no man should have skinny jeans, cardigans etc… and Russell7 also cliams to be embarrassed by their swedish. I say wear skinny jeans, cardigans etc… if you like. When reading Rusell7 comments, it was more so don’t.

I believe in infinite rights. So I don’t tell people not to wear cardigans. But I maintain the right to tell them they look like a fa g.

Okay maybe I was talking about conversative in terms of dress. I don’t know it’s nearlly 2:20am. I’m half sleepy, probably would like to get off .5mg of Ativan twice a day… ( doctors seeing if I have an anxiety problem I guess). So yeah don’t bother my comment.

haha dont worry coolbrezze :P

haha ok russel, you are just seriously ridiculous  i mean ive had my fair share of arguing with stubborn people, but ive always maintained that theres no point arguing with stupid people  i guess it was just the ‘maintain the right to tell them they look like a fa g’ part :stuck_out_tongue: so, i will just let it go i guess  i can only hope that with time, youll realize that the world is bigger than west canada, and you are not perfect/everyone else sucks… i also hope that your parents dont blame themselves for how you turned out, its ok, shi-t happens
oh and, really you should know that i take no offence about your comments on swedish genes, as i dont have swedish genes, i was merely raised there  also, please man, take a bio class…
it was good fun for a while, because i actually thought you just had a different opinion and wanted to debate it, but my judgment was clouded i guess, and well… i realized i was wrong  good luck with the rest of your life, maybe one day youll be a decent person with a more mature view on things that isnt based on calling people fa-gs etc…
so yea, ill most likely not post here anymore, i might if i see something interesting, but yea  gg
