In the US an "A" = 90%+ , apparently Mcgill considers an "A" to be 85%+
If i apply to Mcgill will they convert my grades to their scale of grading?

No. McGill will evaluate your application as a US high school student.

I didn’t really find McGill’s website to be that informative for US students… I kinda had to sift through lots of links to find some sort of admission standards. I had ~3.6 GPA and I was rejected quite quickly. It was a bit of a stretch, but I thought I’d apply anyways. Oh, and their app fee is about $80US so you may want to make sure you’re in their range before you apply :)

McGill’s website is a great foreshadowing of what you can expect once you get here. You’ll be doing a lot of PI work to figure out a simple “yes” or “no”. There’s really no limit to the amount of red tape you may encounter.

Poster #2 is correct, though: McGill takes your transcript on face value, they have no interest in converting your grades to their scale.

As for your (hanabijm) quick rejection. That’s odd, I know of quite a few American’s who got accepted with GPA’s as low as 3.3 (unweighted).

Seeing as the McGill application is the easiest thing to fill out (as an American) – you might as well throw the 80 USD down and hope for the best. Typing in your info, and the credit card number is the hardest part of the process.
