hey apush people! where are you in the textbook? we've just finished chapter 31 (TR stuff)- we are essentially at the end of first semester at my school.

hah.... we totally haven't (mid 20s)

but I'm not stressing - I'm sure I can catch up if we are behind in April lol

Heh, we're still on the Constitution and we're having a test on it on Tuesday, but then, NJ schools require 2 years of US History, so we get to go really slowly...

Anyone else think that the American Pageant makes too many strange metaphors?

Chpt. twenty-five.

LOL you guys are at 25? 31?!We're stopping at 19 for midterms, and my school is at WWI in another book! (I take AP US at another school than my own because of a scheduling conflict) If I didn't go ahead in the readings (I'm on ch. 24 right now) I would be very scared right now.

haha, we just got done with ch 19 in the american pageant in my class.......we have had about 10 snow days, including one right before winter break...so we never got all of our homework, which was supposed to be reading about 10 chapters.....so we are way behind now.

we just finished 24

were on ch. 27

after reconstruction and thats where our finals stops

on 23,24,25 right now

Chapter 25 of 13th edition, but should be on ch.26 by Wednesday

we just finished ch 29, studying for finals now.

We're just going into ch 25 on reading assignments (reading it right now, in fact), and for lecture we are just into around ch 23 and 24.

finished chap 26

im so glad to be super ahead! we had a mid-term on chapters 1-18 back in october, and our midterm next week is on 19-31. we finished 31 way early though so we just have been doing a lot of [really helpful] DBQ practice the last few days.

I've heard that some schools have 2 year AP courses or something like that? They go through it and it takes 2 years to finish the whole book?

Also, getting through the book is not always important, it is more important to learn the themes rather than be the first to finish.

In class -- 20
Techincally in reading (as in, we're supposed to have read and taken notes on) -- 23

Oh, and my teacher has figured out that no one has been doing the reading, so she's been giving us a quiz every day for the past week. Such is life.

just to clarify- my school is not "rushing through" the reading. we spend plenty of time on each chapter and keep a steady pace of 2 chapters per week. i was talking to my teacher today and she said her decision to get through the text earlier is so that we have ample time to review in class before the test in may (that we are ALL so looking forward to, i'm sure)

my class is on chapter 28, about the western frontier and such

Chapter 25, holler back.
