American Students

How selective is the school for American students? Do they separate out all the American students' applications separately from Canadian ones and/or look at them any differently? Does anyone have an acceptance rate for American students, or even just students overall?

Not competitive at all for Americans. Americans = international which is more money. mcgill has NO money so they want Americans.

They do separate the americans out, and that is good because you will be looked upon as a patron instead of a poor canadian. I don’t think they release data for acceptance rate for Americans, but it should be higher.

Does that mean they are really stingy with financial aid for Americans and/or are a lot less likely to accept them if they need it?

How is McGill’s reputation with American firms in terms of recruiting?

oh, don’t expect to get financial aid. You might be able to get loans to pay back later though.

I am only aware of firms related to finance and economics, so this is just my area of expertise. There are recruitment being done at mcgill, so it is not completely unknown to elite firms. But the recruitment is extremely small so it is nothing like Wharton at all.
