Has the portal trick worked for anyone from MA/has anyone gotten letters in MA yet?
@washdcgorl ackâŠif you read last years thread, Texas got packets Friday or Saturday. You donât want the picture to show up as regular mail, but the ones without a picture can be so many things.
@lookingforarolemodel ok, good to know. I really thought it would come today bc when I applied ea for georgetown (who also mails) it came on the third day after it was mailed which should be today considering they r both in dc
Nothing in the mail in North Carolina.
If Iâm still unable to log in to my account is there any chance that they just havenât loaded all of the accounts yet?
This is ridiculous. They should have just done online admissions. With the portal trick, it has stressed a lot of people out and created many complications!!!
Is it possible that my letter could show up today even if itâs not mentioned in informed delivery
@selmac I still cannot log in. Hoping for the best!!
Accepted through the portal trick. Hereâs my stats:
Decision Plan: Regular
Major: BA Music and 5-Year Masters in Education
OBJECTIVE:
-Unweighted GPA: 3.98 / 4
-Weighted GPA: 4.58 / 5
-That is about half my classes as honors or AP. All As except one B sophomore year.
-6 AP. 14 honors.
-My school does not rank, but I know that I am right around the top 10% of my class of 720.
-ACT: 36 (36, 36, 34, 36) One sitting.
-SAT II: None.
-AP Exams: Junior year was United States History (5), English Language (5) and Music Theory (5). Senior year will be Environmental Science, Psychology and Calculus AB.
-From large public school in a rather well-off community in suburban Midwest. Sends lots of students to top 30 schools and the likes. Female, white.
EXTRACURRICULARS:
-Top musician in state on my instrument, invited to state music education conference for two years in a row, honors ensembles both times. Played at regionals for three years, upward trend.
-Help out some of my teachers during my free period. I teach underclassmen, and I think I mentioned in my application that I want to go into education.
-Marching band section leader for three years, did marching band for four years, top concert band and orchestra for three years. Pit orchestra for three years.
-Two-time Camp NaNoWriMo winner. Wrote a novel in a month.
-No employment.
HONORS:
-National Honors Society, state commended, Top Scholar at school, AP Scholar, etc.
-Outstanding achievement in Spanish and physics junior year.
LETTERS:
-One letter of recommendation from United States History teacher. Could have been okay, or good, as sheâs a strong writer but didnât know me that well. (7/10)
-Other letter from my Spanish teacher who adored me! (9/10)
-Counselor was vouching for me. Sheâs also very articulate in her writing. (8/10)
ESSAYS:
-Common App essay was about regional and state music as mentioned above, about learning from mistakes/failure. It sounds a lot like a clichĂ© âsports injuryâ story, except about dropping my instrument. (8/10)
-I forgot to send the optional âWhy Americanâ essay. Whoops. (0/10)
-Supplement was about my high school, how itâs pretty conservative, but we have had students who stand up for themselves, whether it be race or LGBTQ rights. (7/10)
Congratulations if you got in, hang in there if you havenât heard and good luck in the college search to everyone else!!
@katecarpok I agree, it is 2019, snail mail is so 1985! LOL. From the EA folks some could not get in either, so it seems to not be very accurate. Seems a lot that got in are in the mentorship program. I wonder how many people they send that to? I would assume most do not accept that offer, I wonder if it is lack of aid/merit? Has anyone heard?
Yep, here too.
@washdcgorl I think anything is possible at this point! Who knows if it even shows up, it could be magazines! LOL
Got the letter today (Thursday). 100 miles from DC on i-95 corridor⊠more importantly, skinny letter. Now totally on board with the admissions conspiracy theories!
american needs to step up their admissions process lol
My daughter was accepted, followed the instructions posted by jules2020:go to the myAU portal. Youâll need your AUID which should be at the bottom of your application confirmation email. Using that number you can create a portal. Once youâre in the portal go to Life @ AU and scroll down to New Students. Then on the left there will be a blue box and in that box find Enrollment Agreement. If you click on that it should show your addmisions decision
Anyone know about accepted students day? Canât find it anywhere on the AU website.
Just got an acceptance package in the mail in Mass!
@alleycat2 today in MA!
Are you able to log into the portal yet? (In MA)
Big envelope received in NY. Is that a yes?
