@equality4all Did you check? We can’t wait LOL
@BowieRules Nope, I need to read a book for school so I’m gonna distract myself with that until I feel more emotionally ready
wait i just read this from another thread but was interview a part of the process?
@equality4all I got in with Option B supplement and nothing said congratulations until I opened the status update from the portal, they’re also sending all admits a paper package as well but probably not for those not admitted
SAT 1580, 23 essay, 3.9 UW, top 2 in my class of 270, from MA, brother went to Williams lol
I submitted a paper about race relations from AP US history last year
@equality4all I also was not aware that interviews were given, I didn’t get one if there were and I’m nearby
Waitlisted! Oh well.
Waitlist, same as Williams. Well done to everyone who did get in, that’s impressive!
@equality4all Which book are you reading? I want to be on the same page with you
@BowieRules Remembering Babylon
Here goes a 5th "We thank you for your time… unfortunately…strongest pool of applicant… " and so on. Congrats to those who got in!
by the way the decision doesn’t expire if I don’t check in a few hours/days right?
S rejected. Hmm
@equality4all nope, not expires… But you kinda need to form your decision about Overnight Open House before April 4, which is soon. We will all be patiently waiting, including Amherst!
Accepted as an international needing near full aid!! Ahhh I love need-blind schools haha
My D18 got accepted but she said couldn’t find the FinAid info? Anyone seen or know when they would let the students know of it? Will be a ‘big’ deciding factor between Pomona, Williams and Amhert.
@sanjosedad The portal says that they will start making financial aid decisions available on the 27th.
Okay am I the only one who found the rejection letter really funny?
“Be assured, however, that each application was read in its entirety, recommendations were considered fully, transcripts were interpreted with care, and every case was reviewed more than once.”
Aka, don’t worry, we are very very sure that we want to reject you. You think we didn’t look at xyz? Don’t worry, we did.
Somehow I find it to be a really nice rejection letter but also kind of really bad. Send help, I think all this rejection is making me cynical.
@OuchThatHurt Oh, I beg them to reconsider for your wonderful sense of humor alone! [-O<
Accepted! I am an international student from Nepal. This is a huge relief after almost a dozen “rejected” and "wait-listed"s, and with only a couple of universities remaining. I had lost all hopes since I didn’t even get into my safety schools. I guess my financial need was the deciding factor for most colleges; I wanted almost a full ride. Congrats to all who got accepted.
Accepted! Still in absolute SHOCK. After being rejected from Tufts ED, Northeastern, and waitlisted at Colgate, I truly was NOT expecting this. I saw the email when in the car with two of my friends and literally said “Oh my Amherst decision is out. Y’all ready to see me be rejected from college?” I had always known Amherst was a big reach for me, and I’d recently accepted the fact that my chances were extremely slim. A friend of mine with a 4.0 and nearly perfect SAT was rejected! I’m not even in the top 10% of my class. I am so in shock- I feel like I don’t even deserve this!! After a streak of bad decisions, I was starting to lose hope for the future. THANK YOU AMHERST FOR BELIEVING IN ME.
