Darren said we could call on Monday. They are sending out decisions then.

One more day! :)

So. 8:30 A.M.?

How do you feel? Confident?

allengood- After reading so much on CC after applying, I’m not feeling too confident anymore. I’m applying from a 4-year, so I really had no guidance on putting together an “appealing” application. Of course, this is no excuse. Had I done my homework on apps earlier, perhaps I could have put something together that sparkled a little bit more. But now I know, and feel supremely more confident if I have to make a second go-around at this.

Coming from a military background, I felt like listing all my military schools would have been too showy. I just listed one or two big things I did in Afghanistan, but hopefully they were unique enough to sway their decision in my favor.

Can’t wait for us all to hear tomorrow. Good luck.

PS- Do W’s on a transcript hurt you that much? What would be some mitigating factors? I have 3 total for 3 semesters, but other than those my grades are all A’s or A-'s.

I wouldn’t be too worried about Ws. Although, three is a bit much.

Amherst actually has begun to recruit students with military backgrounds, so I think that you’re military experience will only enhance your application.

Good Luck everyone!! I believe they only accepted 9 Spring transfer students last year… It’s so daunting!

Has anyone called admissions yet? How did it go?

I just called and was connected to Darren’s office to leave him a voicemail. They haven’t sent out the letters yet…the woman who answered the phone said “The letters haven’t been mailed, and I don’t know what’s going on with that …”
She told me that Darren might be able to give me an indication of how my application was looking and to leave him a message and he would call me back.

FYI

I talked to Darren. They only accepted five transfer students. I was not among them. BC here I come. Good Luck everyone!

Seriouslywow, do you know whether he notified all the ones accepted today?

I don’t really know. I imagine that it would be easy to call all five of them.

I wasn’t accepted either. I am thinking about reapplying for the Fall. Does anyone know of any transfers whom were reaccepted after a second application? Although, it’s disheartening to think that transferring in the Spring is supposed to be easier.

First of all, good luck to everybody in the admissions process. I remember all too well how nerve-wracking that time was.

I’m a current Amherst transfer. The transfers here are a pretty tight-knit group; we look out for each other, etc, so please feel free to PM me. I look forward to getting to know all of the transfers accepted this spring.

PS: OCC, oh hi! Fancy I should find you here. Elvis, thanks again for turning in my paper!
