amsco question

those who have taken the sat 2 us history test scored 600+ and have used amsco did you guys read the documents or quotes after the chapter readings?

I didn't read that stuff. I just read each chapter and did the multiple choice at the end (I got a 770). Think the documents are more for the AP test and don't really help much for the SAT II.

hey guys,

i tried to find the book in border but w/ no luck. so i turned to barrons, which is said to be just as decent. so my question is, is the amsco book an actual textbook and where can i find it? oh and is this the best prep you can possibly get for SAT hist?

ps. i'm hoping to get above 750 on my retake this fall

the amsco book is only online I think...you can't buy it in bookstores. I only read the chapters that I didn't remember, then I do the questions at the end of the chapter. Also try the barron's study cards for U.S History, that will help you remember the events and stuff

so it's an online self prep thing? is there a specific website?

thanks!

no, its a book. you can find it on amazon.

the documents are for dbqs mostly, you don't have to read them if you arn't taking the AP test

ugh am i stupid or what, i just can't seem to find it on there tho.

hey um is there any way i can find it in book stores?

go here
http://www.amscopub.com/frameset.htm
1.on the top of the page in the middle click price list and book information...
2. next go to the left and scroll to American history
3. find the book called United States History - Preparing For The Advanced Placement Examination Revised

it has an American flag cover

btw yournamehere> what did you score the first time?

hey thanks for the info!

i scored a 630 the first time and got a 4 on the AP exam
i already ordered the Barron's prep but i'm still not sure what i should do

also...did you guys read the history perspectives?

bump...i'd like to know if any of you guys read the history perspectives after the chapter...
