AMSCO vs. REA APUSH

I'm hearing from people that AMSCO and REA are the best books. Can someone tell me which is the better of the two?

The class textbook I have is American Pageant, and its good, but has a lot of extra junk in it, and I'm not able to focus on the actual information.

I plan on using whichever of these 2 prep books to aid me in studying for DBQs we do in class, unit tests, etc.

Here are the links on Amazon (where i've found them cheapest)

REA - http://www.amazon.com/AP-United-States-History-REA/dp/0738602183/sr=1-1/qid=1160069720/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-5267571-2457654?ie=UTF8&s=books

AMSCO - http://www.amazon.com/United-States-History-Placement-Examination/dp/1567656609/ref=sr_11_1/002-5267571-2457654?ie=UTF8

I have both books and both are really good. The Amsco is a tad bit more detailed for DBQs and tests but for prepping for the AP exam, either is fine.

I took APUSH last year and all the teachers recommended and/or require the REA. I don't know compared to the other one, but REAs are really good. I was lazy and I didn't buy one, so i just studied on my friends book the day before the test..and ended up with a 4 on the exam :)

We used the American Pageant.

I bought the REA the week of the AP test, read half of the summary two nights before, the other half the night before, and got a 5.

The REA is plenty good enough.

just use invaders realm

Read the Amsco and it's is a guaranteed 5.

Amsco Rocks !!!!!

Amsco > any other AP review book.

AMSCO helped me get a 5 so I say get it. REA is just like a textbook

i ordered Amsco's book 2 days ago..it should be arriving soon

REA is known for overdoing things.

isnt amsco more like a textbook?

true amsco is detailed but remember, the ap us test goes towards details and thats where amsco pwns

YAY. I got my AMSCO book today. It is short and fat.

Are these books just bunches of facts excerpted from textbook?

These books give facts, themes, tips on essays, instruction on doing MCs and essays, sample questions and sample essays.

Yes, we are sure predator.... You dont have to post 3 times...If you dont like it, sell it and buy REA.
