APUSH - Which book?

My teacher recommended the whole class to get REA. My sister also used REA a few years back and got a 5 (diff teacher though).

He however, has this book for some reason: United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/United-States-History-Preparing-Examination/dp/1567656609%5B/url%5D">http://www.amazon.com/United-States-History-Preparing-Examination/dp/1567656609</a></p>

But there seems to be an overwhelming majority of proponents of the AMSCO book on this forum.

So which book is best?

The “United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination” link you posted is the AMSCO book.

I recommend that above all others. (also get Crash Course for quick review)

Thanks.

So guys, AMSCO or REA?

From a friend of mine who passed with a five last year and is planning on majoring in history from BC, the AMSCO is garbage. I can’t speak from personal experience and maybe it was a personal problem he had, but my class has these other, older books he said he preferred. I’m not positive of the title, but its older and has a green spine and cover. Well organized and easy to read.

It’s a bit late for AMSCO. REA is a great book, and can easily be read in a weekend if you put the time in.
