Sweet…yeah, I went to Malawi cuz I kind of needed time to
reflect on the purpose of my life and study more about Africa.
I was sort of obsessed with Africa…I asked my daddy to send
me to S.Africa for my fresh man yr in high school, but he refused
and sent me to the U.S. I had unhappy time here , and finally succeeded
in convincing my parents to send me to Malawi…so I studied alot,
saw alot, felt alot, and realized alot…I was on the edge of becoming a
secular whore who just demands more money in the U.S. …but I now
found my true-self of future solution-finder to problems in Africa…
long stroy,hard to abbreviate.
I learned language cuz I wanted to talk to people…(this also can’t be abbreviated)

My brain is fairly unknown, and I don’t even know what’s going on…

thanks

amazing! I don't know if I could do all the things you did...and still manage to be alive/have money in my bank account. You are honestly one of the strongest applicants that I have seen on CC

Thanks,,,it's so confusing right now.l..by even considering about these kinds of biz(college admission)...I feel like I became a secular whore again, but I don't wanna be that kind of guy...just hope this to be considered as a realistic consideration of myself for my life.

You should be a very unique, fascinating applicant. unfortunately, i'm sure that international competition will be stiff, because there are likely to be other students around the world who are equally talented, if not more so.

I still have to say that you are very strong. Best of luck!

So how do you speak Hebrew?

i'm in shock. WOW. your SAT is amazing, you've taken what looks like every SAT II and AP possible (are you bankrupt now? lol) and have great ECs and stuff...yeah wow..you'll get in but nothings a guarantee with the top schools...:)

Just so long as you were not part of Madonna's party! You certainly are unique. I also trust that your daddy can pay so you won't need aid. Good SATs. I think you will get into some. More jaded schools might see you as a rich Korean who took a year in Africa to look different.

Even if you took a year in Africa to look different, I mean you still took a year in AFRICA!

Make sure your essays are really strong, and for at least some of the schools where you really want to go, find a reason you can articulate above and beyond very general ones for why the school would be a good fit with your interests and passions. E.g., you know what you want to study in college, but you also think that Edward Miguel in the economics department at Berkeley has done some groundbreaking work in understanding the interplay between institutions and development and you'd like to take classes with him or Steve Stedman at Stanford has done some really interesting writing about Africa and preventative diplomacy (these are fairly true, by the way). And tie it all to who you are. Don't be generic in your application. Your background is anything but generic, so you want to communicate that you are not.

By the way, is it true that the gin in Malawi is amazing? Or is that just a myth?

I didn't take a year off in Africa... I just finished my junior year in an international school in Africa...+ I will also be finishing my senior year here...I'm not rich btw. Hmm...gin, i haven't tried it, I've tried not to do anything illegal here just because it is too accessible that one can screw oneself if she/he doesn't behave oneself. Everything illegal is cheap here...Widely accessible also, but this is the exact reason why you shouldn't do it.haha.

Malawi is apparently the poorest country in Africa, and thus in the world. Ethiopia's GDP per capita exceeds that of Malawi by four times. Ridiculous living conditions for the African natives ($600 GDP per capita compared to the tuition at my international school $15,000 ...)-->I was convinced about the fact that is surreal and we need to make it real by putting another zeron on the GDP...desperate.

Bribery is the absolute rule here...this thing also should be corrected ASAP.

I majorly studied how to read Hebrew...I'm not good at speaking or listening at all...cuz SAT II tests you on reading only. I learned Hebrew because I wanted to be closer to God.-_- Sounds pretty odd but a true statement.

Illegal? Is it illegal because you are less than 18 or something? Wow, I would've thought Malawi would adhere to European standards on spirits like gin -- i.e., low drinking age and/or not enforced at all. Oh well. Regarding all the other stuff that could really get you in trouble, I'd say you are wise, not because that kind of stuff is truly frowned upon, but because people are always looking for a chance to enforce a law against rich foreigners. I remember I was stopped while driving in Tanzania because I had "improperly changed lanes" and the policeman took my music (CDs) from me -- and then proceeded to invite me over to his house so we could hang out and listen to the CDs! Really.

But if you find out about the gin, please let me know. ; )

I am sure that this is close to the truth, but in my experience African countries compete for this "honor" so they can win the aid game. How economic performance is measured -- and whether done accurately -- is very open to debate.

And correct...I'm wise enough not to apply for FA

BedHead//That police officer's behavior is fairly cute.

Hes a troll look through his past posts.... soo much conflicting info....
