An interesting case of where to go..

So I have been accepted to
UC Davis
UC Irvine
UC Riverside
San Diego State University
and New York University
I also have been waitlisted at Cal Poly SLO and UC Santa Barbara

I have no clue where to go. I dont want to go Riverside. And NYU is wayy too expensive. Also, I dont want to do the Cal Poly waitlist.

I really wanted UCSB tho so im really confused on what to do. Im going to try to and get off the waitlist but i need to know which school i should go to or just register with.

im so confused HELP ME :)

If I were you, I would go for SDSU… just because I’ve heard many good things about it.

The answer depends on your intended major and your geographical preferences of the California schools.

If you’re not yet decided what you’ll do career-wise, then the general academics at your option schools may be the deciding point for you. I’ll assume that it is. Then of your California choices both UC Davis and UC Irvine stand out, with UC Davis probably the slightly stronger school. With the exception of Cal Poly, if you have the option, I wouldn’t recommend that you choose a State University (such as SDSU) instead of a UC.

Location-wise, Davis has a special positive ambiance, albeit very different from UC Irvine. The city of Davis is very much a college town.

I also vote UC Davis. I’ve heard a lot of really good things about it and know someone who is there now.

my major is psychology and my intended career is marriage and family therapist

hope that helps! all the suggestions help!

UC Davis…

How is UCI for psychology?

Have you visited these schools and the psych depts?

ive visited both and i have to research more about their psychology programs.

does anyone know anything about them?

any more suggestions?

UC-I has a good reputation overall and a very good rep in psych specifically.

^^^

If that’s true…then go to UCI…

Great location…close to the beach…The Bren Center has lots of entertainment possibilities…The Irvine Spectrum has great off-campus places to eat…so does Fashion Island…can you tell that I went to UCI…LOL

UC Davis ia a real up-and-comer in many ways but it’s pretty rural. I personally would go there. Irvine has a very non-diverse student body, you have to decide if that is right for you, but it has some location advantages.

lol thanks everyone! and ya UCI does seem to be very nondiverse and i am white so would be the minority but i heard that if you joined a sorority then you would fit right in since most of the white kids there are in frats or sors.

and any more opinions on the psych programs, social scenes and locals of each.
that would be AMAZING

anyone???

just do the UCD or UCI

well im going to choose UCD or UCI but im staying on the UCSB waitlist for sure.

that school just feels right for me but im very confused on whether to pick UCD or UCI in case i dont get into SB.

any more suggestions???

it would be very helpful!
