Hello!

I'm wondering if Anatomy and Physiology is a good class to take? I am a rising senior (current junior) and I plan on majoring in psychology. The thing im worried about is that the class at my school dissects cats! I've never performed a dissection before. So I am nervous about it.

Thoughts?

Yeah, although it might be better to take AP Bio if it’s available and you haven’t already.
Dissections aren’t bad. The chemicals just smell bad.

If you think you won’t be able to handle it then don’t take it. But the dissection of the cat is probably a very important part of the class. It would make your transcript nice and I suggest you take it.

It’s not bad. We’ve already dissected a lamb brain. We might dissect cats too (I don’t know about that…). You could always make your partner do it. My lab partner loves this stuff (she wants to be a surgical RN or something like that) so she did a lot of the actual dissection.
