Who here has taken an anatomy and physiology course in hs? I did this last year...pulled off a 98 for the year out of 100, no weighting, though the course was almost strictly dependent on how well you could learn from the textbook.

i was going to take it senior year, but my college counselor (also an admissions officer at duke) told me not to and made me pick AP Environmental Science instead because even though it's a dumb class, the fact that it's AP makes it marginally better.

whatever, i'm switching to AP Phys C

I'm hoping to take it next semester if I can fit it into my schedule. I really need that class.

I took it only because of lack of options (I hate science).. the teacher was a moron and i proved him wrong about 3 times a week... he wasn't by the book at all.. more along the lines of him making up things and just thinking we wont know any better... it was impossible to do bad becuase all the tests were open book.. and papers could be redone up to 3 times... worthless

Human Anatomy!
THIS WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CLASSES!!!!!!!!!!!

WE HAD A BOMB TEACHER, the tests were challenging, tricky, but not unbearable.

I did extremly well 1st semester, but 2nd semester started to get really tough, but still pulled of an A.

We disected a cat for 6 weeks. It was an amazing experience.

The best, most informative class one can take in HS.

we disected a cat... it was optional.. i chose not to participate.... it sat in a bag the whole year with preservatives... then we took it out and it smelled like ronch.. it was stiff and nasty!

at our school, that is for people that failed bio and aren't eligible for chem, which is a prereq for all further courses.

We dissected a cat for AP Bio. I loved it. This girl in my group named it after a cat she was getting the next week. Morbid, huh?

Our Human Anatomy is taught at the college-level, but it's not AP.

that's a little strange about naming the cat... I'm not a real animal lover... dead or alive...... the cat just kinda had a freaky look that it could possibly wake up and attack..... then again, im a pansy

I'm taking it next year..apparently the honors class is insanely hard, though, and almost impossible to get an A in, which is lame because it'll be my senior year..

hopefully I'll be able to drop it if it's in the second semester, though :)

I have it first semester. I guess it is supposed to be really hard.

That was one of the best classes i've ever taken! We had a really cool teacher, and the stuff itself was very interesting, even though i'm not going to be a doctor or anything. There is a lot of stuff to memorize, but if you put at least a little bit of time in it (i'm talking half an hour before every test) you'll get a percentage close to a hundred.

Loved anatomy! We dissected a frog, a sheep heart, a sheep brain, and our beloved cat :P His name was Mussolini (Mussi for short) We don't dissect cats in AP bio, instead it was a fetal pig, that was kind of weird, only because we had to skin it first... yuck!

wait ... didnt you guys have to skin the cat? We did. It was the best part :)
We called her Wilma Jacobsen, just like the teacher. She was surprised when she read it on the bag, but laughed. Amen to good sense of humor.

We dissected a cat in Bio AP, among other things. We didn't skin it, apprently that's quite difficult

Our teacher gave us straws to insert into the trachea and blow into to inflate the lungs. That was a little weird

we had to skin it. it took foorrever! the fascia would NOT come off, lol.. it was pretty gross but it was fun. we were going to inflate the lungs but we cut into too much.

Physcology interests me a lot more than this course. I want to be able to somewhat predict emotions.

yeaj, the deep fascia on the neck and extremities is kinda hard. I began by cutting it to separate the skin as the teacher told us, but then got bored and just started tearing it off slowly. Our group was done like an hour before everyone else.

This class my my worst class ever. The teacher was a total joke all we did everyday was watch lame videos about the human body and then we got tons of random colouring and pages with lists of questions which we had to answer and the teacher just stamped it and made us lose points when the writing was not neat and she was just a total ********* ****** ***** *. And almost everyone ended up failing the class because there was too much work and the tests were from a college textbook and of course she never taught us anything so we were *ed.

Not only that but she collected money from us at the beginning of the year to get the cats to dissect but we never did it so essentially she stole money from us. Half of the people ended up dropping and the other half failed so she was a total head. And she was a total whiner she fell on her leg and it was so funny and she had a cast and she was always ordering people around to get stuff for her. I wanted to push her wheelchair into the middle of the street. SHe's a * *en dumb * ****.

In short she is the worst teacher ever. Next to my physics teacher of course. He was equally as lazy and stupid and incompetent and he really really was lazy. I mean we never had a test in the whole class except the webassign things where we take tests on the computer. He did not keep a gradebook and the only way he graded us was the computer tests. ANd of course everyone cheated on those but he didn't know or was too stupid and lazy to catch us.

I didn't learn one thing from the class and it's a shame because he was the only physics teacher at the entire school. He was a dumb *head who should go eat *. I wasted a whole year with him. He never explained anything he just gave us a bunch of work and the class was so BORING and I wasted hundreds of hours of my life in that class doing nothing learning nothing.

My physics teacher a long with my anatomy teacher are the worst teachers ever. And I had them during junior year. shudder But anyways it's over now but they were balanced out by my amazing USH, English, and Math teachers but that's another rant which I will not go into. It's all over now though.

Sorry for the rant but I just had to do it.
