I am a junior this year and I am taking Chemistry. I have taken honors Biology and Conceptual Physics in my past years. My senior year I have the option to take Anatomy and Physiology or AP Physics. I am looking to major in Psychology. I was wondering which one would be more beneficial when working toward that major. If both are necessary I could double up and take both.. I just don't know what to do..

My D is in the 4th year of college in a BA/MD program. She is a psych minor and her friends who are psych majors have to take 2 semesters of bio for social sciences and stats. it is true that Anatomy is more closely related to the biological sciences. Physics is not needed in college for your major.

However, if you change to premed in college or go to med school as a psych major with the core courses of organic, bio, calc, general chem etc., you will be more than prepared to handle that hard science case load.

However, if you are sure about your future college major being pure psych take AP stats in high school instead of adding more pure sciences. Good luck.
