Many of you young folks have by the posts I have seen here and other places have made gotten all your paperwork done, filled out the numerous MOC applications, sent in the VP paperwork, have your DODMERB physical done and some may have been to Summer Seminar, a Navy Sports Camp or both, and Now the waiting begins. I just want to Thank you all for your hard work. Just to get to this part puts you IMHO as some of the best and the brightest that this wonderful Country has to offer. Of the Thousands that apply, only a small percentage will go on. You should be proud of yourself for wanting to serve, and wanting to participate. There is very little in this country one cannot do if properly motivated and follows through with hard work. Ive been there, done that and have all the tshirts, and know that it can be done. Never allow any setbacks to stop you and keep reaching for your goal.

DODMERB hasn't contacted me about my physical yet. I wrote my nomination sources about a week ago. I'll be buys with Academy stuff until school starts again.

My daughter's application is complete with the exception of the BGO interview and DODMERB exam. Her presidential nomination was approved on 5 July. The BGO interview is scheduled for next Saturday, 21 July. And her DODMERB exam is scheduled for 31 August after her braces are removed on 28 August.

My daughter asked: "When will I hear something about my appointment to the academy. My response: "Maybe this fall or maybe this winter."

Hurry up and wait.

Don't get her hopes up too much. Unless she is LOA level, she will probably not hear before mid February at the earliest.

Yep, hurry up and wait.

^^^^^
I already told her that. Her brother didn't receive his appointment until 20 February 2007. Unless the academy wants her really bad, she won't hear until later.

Lola had her DODMERB Physical late august last year. Interview with BGO in Sept, Senator's Interview Oct, Nom late Oct, Cong Interview Nov, Nom warly Dec. LOA 2nd week in Jan. And I cant believe she is through it all and now in her 3rd week of Plebe Summer. MY HOW TIME FLIES! MY PARENTS WERE RIGHT!

One bit of advice on the DoDmerb physical. make sure the Dr. fills in every blank on the sheet and signs every available place that requires a signature. We had to make 3 trips to the Military base here before they finally got it right.
