At the past CVW my parents and I learned that only 150 of the appointments have been given out. So, don't give up anyone, there are plenty of spots left :)

Really? If that's true, then I'd be really surprised.

That's strange. I heard usually there are 200 people with LOA's. Plus I would think anyone that was a principal nominee has already gotten an offer of appointment.

Well the dean of admissions said only 150 official appointments have been sent out during the parent questioning period on the past Friday.

Well that's good. I'm getting real anxious these days. Today I stopped in the middle of mowing the lawn when the mailman came just to see if they've sent my letter yet.

no kidding...the last few periods of class each day are passed by the hopeful thought of opening my mailbox to be greeted by that Naval Academy Dean of Admissions envelope...only to be let down again.

Tom Petty was right....The Waiting Is the Hardest Part

Last week, February 23, d received calls from both of her nominating sources, US Senator and our local congressman. The great news was that USNA had notified them that she was being offered an appointment! She was triple Qd and principal nominee of our senator, so we were pretty certain that it was only a matter of time before she would hear. Jonez, you have our other senators nom, great stats, and youre triple QdId say you should hear soon too.

Principal nomination from Sen. Boxer? That's really impressive. Sen. Feinstein and Rep. Eshoo nominated me and I actually never heard from Sen. Boxer's office. Hopefully you're right though and I'll get that letter soon.

Jonez~good luck! and...we are really jealous that you are MOWING YOUR LAWN... sometimes we get to do that by May...still snow and cold in the north east! Maybe you'll have good news this week. Perhaps the fact that many on this site have appointments is some indication of the caliber of these applicants and dedication to the process!

seriously. i hate mowing the lawn but about this time of year i'm really wishing i could. it sure beats shoveling snow.

Hehe... Nice and sunny today in CA. Maybe I'll go to the beach.

Beach huh? That hurts...

rchlebek05 You guys got a lot of snow this year didn't you. I think we got 1/4" one day in February. I have a snow shovel but its not been used yet this year... but mowing already too. hehe

We're still SKIING here! Our little ski hill on the back side of the ranch will be open for at least one more week!

Heartcross-
Where are you from? I've got a ski trip planned for next Sunday, and it will be open till March 20th.

rmoorenc,

Yes, you could say we got a lot. For the past month or so, it's snowed pretty much every week. And not just a little bit at a time, at least a foot. Sometimes two :(

We're near Crested Butte, CO. They still have over 6 feet, but we're down to about 18". CB got a few inches yesterday--they'll be open until April 10th.

D considered taking the double kayak out today...what does a snow shovel look like?
(Just kidding--we ski and snowboard.) We heard that Whistler B.C. is closed for the season. Strange weather in the West this winter.

Speaking of strange weather... down here in the panhandle of Texas, it was 95-100 degrees last weekend. Reached the 100 mark Sunday afternoon and by Monday morning it was snowing... It stopped snowing Friday and now its just cold... Shouldn't do that to me, I was all ready to start running outside in the nice weather...

I was out running today...40 degrees out seemed like a heat wave.
