...and on to the Privates.

Hey guys. I just submitted my UC app for UCB, UCLA, UCSD, and Davis yesterday and am experiencing an enormous amount of relief. However, I've still got the private apps to think about, and it's really bugging me.
I'm applying to NYU, Johns Hopkins, and USC. Although there's only a small chance I'll be accepted to any of those, I was wondering what other privates I have a decent shot of getting into. I never took the SAT's (which i know, screws me over).

MY STATS :-)

MAJOR: Econ/Intl Econ
GPA: 3.85
SAT: Never took them because I graduated from hs early
EC's: Valley youth council pres., Flamenco dance performer, Varsity tennis (yeah, no big deal :-(), Editor of Jew's Views (only jewish teen newspaper in bay area), Started state-wide tutoring/volunteer program for illiterate children, Alpha Gamma Sigma (honors society)
WORK EXP: Manager of small publishing company, chef's assistant
COURSES: Latin 1&2 (A&A), Calc (B), Micro&macro (A&A), Stats (A), Programming (A)...most courses were upper level.
OTHER: graduated from high school at the age of 16
Will be IGETC certified

Any ideas? Where can i get in?

You will need to take the SATs for NYU for sure. I am not entirely sure about Johns Hopkins or USC, but I presume that the case is the same for them. You will likely need to take the SATs to even have your applications reviewed by most private universities, regardless of the fact that you are applying as a transfer student. You still have some time to register and prepare to take the SATs, however, as most private school app deadlines aren't until March. Best of luck.

You got a respectful gpa and I think you certainly will be accepted to USC since they don't require SAT for junior transfer.

Really? I found a couple schools that don't require sats like WashU, Cornell, USC, & johns hopkins...But like FourStar said, NYU needs it.

QUESTION 1:
do schools have waivers for the sat results?

QUESTION 2:
What about my high school record? I mean, I only attended for 2 years. Do you think that's going to be a detriment?

How many credits do you have so far? I don't think you'd necessarily have to take the SATs for NYU...

"If you have never taken the SAT/ACT exams and have completed 60 college credits you will not need to participate in these exams to be considered for admission."
"Please note that, as a transfer student, our standardized testing policy is slightly different. If you have taken any standardized tests already, we require you to send those to us. However, if you have more than a year of college and never took any of these exams, you are not required to do so at this point."
just my two cents. I don't know if you're interested in the seven sisters, but I know Mount Holyoke doesn't care that much about SATs
