"...and we'll waive your application fee!"

So, I got a letter from some college saying that they would waive my application fee...

Its not neccesarily free to apply to (which is why i'm not looking at that thread) but I honestly can't remember which college said that! So has anyone else heard anything like this? And also, the letter gave some sort of code. Since I obviously lost the letter, does that mean I can't get the app fee waived?

I have gotten a few letters that pre-fill out parts of the application and waive the fee/essay...which is awesome...Most of them send me an email along with the printed paper, as well as a second letter in the mail...so probably if you just wait, it will come again. Or, if you remember which college, call/email admissions

Yeah, I really like those. I got one from Princeton that said they would waive my application fee, no need for an essay, automatic consideration for scholarship. no actually it was Tulane. I got a fee waiver from Rice and UVM (I think).

If you got an e-mail notification, just search your mailbox.

thanks guys. Anyone else?

Keep in mind you still have to pay to send in SATs and transcripts, so its not totally free (i.e. dont apply on impulse to a school you wouldnt attend)

Grinnell sent my son (high school senior) a letter this week. It said that if he includes a photo of him at age 10 or under wearing a Grinnell logo, they'd waive the application fee (I'm an alum) :)
