You know, @jeweledhorses, I’ve been wondering the same thing.

According to this thread (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/369090-andover-dorm-roommate-assignments.html), you do find out about your roommate.

You should have found out today. Check your email if you haven’t yet.

just found out my dorm. new andover students–pm me and we can see if we’re in the same dorm/cluster

My son was just assigned to the America House, Abbott Cluster. Anyone know anything about this particular house? I know Abbott is halfway to town, but can’t find anything about his house.

I believe its the farthest freshman dorm, but the rooms are large, and there’s 16 people i think…maybe 12
Anything you wanted to know specifically?

Draper Cottage is farther. I think it houses 16 people. It’s too bad of a walk - maybe 10 minutes from Commons. There’s a nice lawn and the house is yellow, I think. I don’t actually know much about it but I’ve walked past it a lot.

Any info about Day Hall, how large are the one room doubles?

Thanks, I think it’s good for him to know it’s small and removed. Close to the music rooms for him to practice. Sounds great for him.

That’s America House - Abbott Cluster

A house is further (I’ve made that trek MANY times). The dorm is pretty known for it’s bonding experience, and the rooms are very big. The house councilor is a bio teacher and is a great guy in general.

pagala: Day hall is extremely nice, one of the most competitive girls dorms on campus. The one room doubles in day hall are like the 360 tour example in the andover walk about. It’s right in the heart of campus, so no need to walk too far.

May I know more about Foxcroft North ? how many singles, doubles?
Are the doubles 2 room or 3 room doubles?
Thanks

Another silly question that I’m sure is out there somewhere, are the beds at Andover extra-long twins or just regular?

andovermoms: foxcroft has all of what you stated, and the exact numbers I don’t know. If your son is in that dorm, he will know if he’s in a double if he has a room mate through the email that the school sent regarding rooms.

opie126: extra-long

Thanks swimdude. If the email stated that he has a roommate, how do I know if it is a shared room or a 3 room double? Sorry if it sounds like a silly question.

So Nathan Hale is the biggest freshman girls’ dorm, right? What are the rooms like? Oh by the way swimdude thanks for answering all of our questions :)

The 3 room double is usually taken by seniors because they get first dibs on room-choice. I believe there is only one 3-room double in Foxcroft, so a new student wouldn’t be assigned to that room.

Yes, Nathan Hale is the biggest, about 40 girls. I can’t tell you about the rooms though, I’ve never been in one.

How about Hearsey House (Flagstaff)? I looked through this thread and read that only four girls live there, but that was the only time it was mentioned. Does Hearsey look more house-like than dorm-like? How many people share a bathroom there? What are the rooms like in Hearsey?

Also, do you know whether we can start sending bigger things like printers to our rooms? How should we do that if we could? Thanks!

All I know about Hearsey is that it gives you a better chance to get into Day Hall after ninth grade. We can ship things to Andover now, as long as we make sure everything is addressed to us, not our parents.

anyone know about bertha bailey?
