lovemeister is just curious coz he's wondering whether another girl from CC's going to exeter and get attracted to him

Of course not! How dare you! :)

I'm leaning a little towards Andover at this minute. Stress "little" and "this minute". :D The Phillipian is winning me over.

How does the Phillipian compare to the Exonian?

The Exonian is excellent, it's just the particular paper I got on my revisit day at Andover is really great.

Ok, cool. I just haven't really compared them.

Woohoo. I've got the top 14 posts! That's gotta be a record.

What are the reasons for eliminating the other schools, prettyckitty?

Finanical aid reasons mostly, though Andover, Exeter, and Milton were pretty much my first choices anyway.

this is something that really bothers me..i have a few links i can get to later so, this will be continued.

read the articles in the exonian and the phillipian. compare them. the only difference is that the phillipian seems more casual.. but the exonian articles i managed to find were on really interesting topics w/ great resources...

"During my time at Exeter, I worked with the school's weekly newspaper, The Exonian. Composed of two boards, the Editorial and Business Boards, it is the oldest preparatory school newspaper in the country. I served on the Business Board, finishing my tenure with the paper as its Business Chairman. The quality of The Exonian is well-known and respected, and aspiring journalists might factor this into their decisions. Each year, the members have the opportunity to go a journalism conference at Columbia University, where they interact with the editors of other school (both high school and college) newspapers. I also participated in the sailing club, libertarian club, ESSO (Exeter Social Service Organization), and others. There are many options for students to choose from." - student review, bsreview.com

I found this very entertaining..

"When a classmate discovers that the truth is not always in the Bible, or that the devil did not invent Communism, the Exonian's feelings are akin to those of an older brother explaining that babies do not come from storks."- harvard crimson
:D:D:D:D

i just had to post that

oh..

and can anyone help me find out who the exeter graduate was who won the International Air Guitar competition? I've seen a documentary on it.. and it is hilarious... everyone was very serious about it.

Well, blairt, as an Exonian, I think you have a right to know that the Exonian is not necessarily the oldest secondary school newspaper in the country. I'm not taking sides, or anything, but I talked to a lot of people at Andover who were on the Phillipian and they were were all positive their paper was the oldest. I think the contreversy started because the Phillipian started first, then it "paused", and during the pause the Exonian started, so Exeter claims it has the longest-standing newspaper, and Andover says it doesn't matter, because the Phillipian started first. It really depends on how you look at it.

prettyckitty, im surprised no one has brought this up, but have you heard about the conflicts between the kids at Andover highschool and Phillips Academy?

Did you decide yet, prettyckitty?

I like the Phillipian. Not sure about the Exonian.

Who cares.. Point is, Exonian articles aren't available online, so almost nobody here knows what to compare them with.

I actually have a copy of the exonian.
It seems like a real, very serious paper, but they have a humor page which was hilarious (hopefully I'm not mixing this up with another school because I asked for a copy at each school).

I would go to Exeter if I were you. Exeter seems like a dilligent school, that works its' students to pursue outside of the classroom.
I feel like people choose Andover too often because it is a 'brand' name school. I know people say it repeadtedly on this board.

On Sunday, 8 April 2007, I selected Phillips Academy Andover for secondary school. :)
It was an extreemly hard decision. There were many, many small factors that went into it, as well as a few bigger things about Exeter and Milton that made me prefer Andover, but what it came down to for me was that I really felt I belonged at Andover. I'm very happy and excited, but I'm also sad. For the past month, I was able to picture myself basically at the three schools similtaniously, and when you choose one fantasy, you must abandon the others. Still, I am extremely happy to be attending Andover next term. :)
