Anger Management Drama

I'm not the type of person who gets mad easily, but if I do, then everything just turns upside down. I turn from a pretty nice person into some sort of narcissist sociopath, in which I tend to hurt people's feeling 99.9% of the time. So, instead of doing that I avoid the people that angered me in the first place, and after a couple weeks my temper cools down.
Now, a close friend of mine got me really upset so I avoid her pretty much every where. Since every time I talk to her my blood boils. This of course is not convenient for either side, and in turn she's offended and thinks I'm a stuck up snob.
I really don't want to hurt my close friend's feeling ( and since we have 4 months together, it would be unfortunate to end a long friendship in bad terms) but I don't want her to take a wrong idea about my actions either. Can anyone help me in solving this problem?

get over your feelings. Feelings don’t matter. at all. Just drop it and move on.
