I was assigned to Annenberg House for next year, but don't know much about it beyond the little information provided on the housing site. Does anyone have any experience with AH? How social is it? Is it safe? Are there many parties? Is its distance from the campus manageable, or something to worry about?

Thanks!

Really? 39 views and nothing? Don’t be shy, people. :)

…never heard of it.

I lived in the building for the last three years and can answer your questions. The apartments are like the standard 2 bedroom units you find in other USC housing, but the building is in better shape than a lot of other complexes. The first floor is the most desirable because the furniture is better and the rooms have recessed lighting and central heating and air. However, first floor rooms do not have a balcony.

The location is also quiet and secluded from a lot of the raucousness on 28th street. I also found the building to be very safe. There is a USC tram stop outside. However, the genius of TrojanTransportation makes it a 20 minute ride from campus because the route circles North University Park before reaching 27th street. A bike is highly recommended.

There is a very large front lawn on the Adams side of the building that’s great for studying or throwing a Frisbee around. However, the building is far from social. People tend to keep to themselves and you will be lucky if you meet your neighbor. There are a handful of building-wide cookouts and RA activities during the year, but it’s far from the “vibrant” learning community described on the website. You’ll be best meeting new people through other outlets.

Parties are generally kept to a minimum and the building is pretty mellow. Most people go elsewhere to have their fun.

Just wanted to know if Annenburg House has washers & dryers? I did not see any mention of it?

If not where can I go for laundry?

Also, Can I rent a bike if needed.

Thanks

I’m pretty sure all USC housing has on-site laundry. Annenberg has laundry rooms on the second and third floor. The machines require a WEB laundry card which can be loaded using a credit card at the kiosk in the building.

I haven’t heard of any bike rental program at USC. In reality, bikes can be had for less than $100 and sold to someone else or stored at the end of the semester. A rental program wouldn’t make a lot of sense.

Just wanted to give this a “bump”. Curious if anyone else has any thoughts on living at Annenberg House. thanks

Bump!

What’s annenberg house like? The guy above gave a wonderful description, but I was hoping for a different perspective…

Bump! What’s Annenberg like? Demographics? Noise level? Etc?

Yet another bump… How’s Annenberg? How far is it? Is a bike needed? Etc…
